Add a QR Code to a Dynamics NAV 2015 Report Header

This article will demonstrate how to add a Qr Code to a NAV report and embed information in the QR Code for scanning. Download and install this MSI. This will give you access to a library of functions to create the QR Code from within NAV.

Note: After importing the objects you may need to reselect the subtype for the dotnet variables in the QR Code Management Codeunit (ID 50010) for IBarCodeProvider and QRCodeProvider to get the codeunit to compile.

For this example I have made a copy of the Order Confirmation Report (ID 205) and save it as QR Order Confirmation (ID 50023). I have redirected the Company Information Picture field in the report to point to a new BLOB field in the Sales Header Table (ID 36) called “QR Code”.

In the Sales Header – OnAfterGetRecord() trigger I have added this code:

This will calculate the QR Code and save it as a BLOB in the Sales Header Table when the report is run.
